As Benjamin Randolph puts it, the friendly service and light, airy décor create a welcoming ambiance that enhances the overall experience.
On my recent visit, I sampled the Fried Ch'kn Sandwich and was blown away. It was crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside, and perfectly complemented by a side of creamy mac and cheese that left me yearning for more. My companion, somewhat of a non-vegan skeptic, was equally impressed by the Brunchwrap, which he declared “a game-changer.”
With such diverse offerings—from the Killer Tofu Toastie to nachos that tantalize the palate—there’s something for everyone at Devil's Lettuce. Whether you're a vegan devotee or an adventurous omnivore, this eatery invites you to savor their inventive, mouthwatering dishes.

“ I love vegan food. I’m not vegan. The flavor punch that Devil’s Lettuce provides is hard to beat. I ordered over the phone and my food was ready in 10 minutes. Amen. It was hot, portions huge. Thank you!! Ordered: - sloppy Mac wrap - freckles feast ”
“ Love, love this all vegan women owned eatery! We go there for the burgers mostly but mix & match options are awesome too! Good portions though would like more small plates to enjoy multiple items from the menu! :) ”
“ Fantastic vegan restaurant! This was my second visit today and it was just as delicious as the first time! Service was excellent and the employees are very friendly! The decor is light and airy! All gender restroom! Will definitely be back! ”
“ Absolutely love Devil’s Lettuce! I went twice on my vacation to Richmond last week. Once for Sunday brunch (special shout-out to the Ch’kn and waffles- I ate every single bite). My non-vegan boyfriend loved the brunchwrap and even had leftovers to take home- which he never does! We went back again for lunch on Wednesday (they’re currently closed Mon/Tues or I would have gone every day). I got the fried ch’kn sandwich- OH MY GOODNESS! It was so delicious. I also got the side of Mac and cheese! My non-vegan brother had a bite of the brunchwrap leftovers and was convinced he needed to try this place. My non-vegan boyfriend had the cheese fries and my non-vegan brother had the bowl. Both visits we saw the owner and the same cashier- and they were so sweet!! Can’t wait to return next time I’m in Richmond! ”
“ Absolutely delicious, mouthwateringly, scrumptious food! We had the Nachos Hell Grande, Killer Tofu Toastie, Sloppy Mac Wrap, and Sloppy Thots. Everyone loved their meals. You get a ton of food, and the people are so freaking nice. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend!! ”
“ The killer tofu toastie is so good. My non vegan husband loved the special and we shared the seasoned fries. Yum! Better than we expected and I can’t wait to go back! ”
“ Devil's Lettuce is a fantastic all Vegan restaurant. The staff is friendly, the space is bright and cheerful (there is a pet picture photo wall which is adorable), and more importantly, the food is delicious. I am not a vegan, but this is the type of vegan restaurant that inspires a change in dietary preference as the dishes are so good that you forget you are eating vegan. I absolutely loved the dank nuggs with seasoned fries and the fajitas burrita (I got those to go for dinner) and the Fiesta fries for eating there. Portion sizes are good, and I had to stop myself from overeating my Fiesta fries and take a bit of them home. There are special events and menu items that appear over time - which is also really neat - like a taco bell menu recreation day. I highly recommend stopping in - vegan or not - and try something new. ”
“ My son is vegan. And I wanted him to try vegan drummies. The didn't have drummies but they did have "Dank Nugz"! They were fantastic! Great texture and flavor. Huge portion of fresh, perfectly seasoned fries. And the Diablo sauce is great but their Ranch dressing is hands down the best I've ever had. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. Vegan or not, check this place out. And sorry for the empty plate Pic but couldn't stop eating. ”
